Back to normal life... Oh Japan, I miss you!

So I finally had the time to draw for myself in between my freelance work that I have been doing for the last couple weeks:

Yay the final forest girl!

Japan was Amazing!!! During our three months there we stayed in Nogoya, visited Kyoto twice, Osaka, Tokyo, climbed Mt. Fuji, bought too many Kokeshi dolls, shopped too much in general, learned the art of Kimekomi, got awesome Japanese nail art on my hands and feet, visited the Totoro house, and ate so much wonderful food!!! I loved every moment of it and didn't want to leave... although I missed my animals back home.

Since then I have been making a few of the dishes that were a staple in Japan and now I cant live without. Pork Udon is one of my favorites to make.

And its picture time!

There were so many pictures it was hard to narrow them down! A couple of other highlights were the Robot Restaurant in Tokyo which was AMAZING!!! So worth the money! Also while in Japan we hit up two music venues (I got to see BUCK-TICK OMG OMG OMG), went to Universal Studios and Disney World, along with another amusement park that was similar to Cedar Point. It was a complete blast!

Here I Am! and here is a Foxy Lady with her Little Owl Friend! ^^

I feel like I have been all over the place lately... well not really hahah, I have just been in my house making patterns, but my mind has been all over! I think its settling now so I can begin to start doing my illustrations again and sharing them with whoever happens to poke by!

I will have to make sure to update on a regular basis and am excited to share that I will be traveling to Japan in like a month and half... cant wait! CANT WAIT!

Here she is: Hello Foxy Lady!

Also I did a little refurbish project a couple days ago. I found a cute old jewelry box that was just like the one my mom had that I would sneak in her room and play with when I was a kid... shhhhh! She had lots of fun little jewelry and buttons and such to play with. I'm not sure if hers also played music but this one does which is sweet. It has a crank in the back and when you open the bottom drawer it plays.

I ripped out all of the inner suede type material from the drawers, in the top and also the sides of the walls and floor in the necklace hanging areas and replaced it with some cute scrapbooking paper that I had lying about. I don't think you can tell in the pictures but I did do a little dry brushing on the metal nobs with a metalicy green to give it a little pop. Also I just love the paint color, it was a sample Pantone color paint, Emerald Green, that I found at Lowe's the other day. I bought two of them and now need to find lots of stuff to paint green hahahah. I have a breadbox that I put letters in that I think I will do next!

I am back! With fun things to share...

Finally getting all caught up! I took sooo many pictures on my trip! Visited San Diego, Portland, and Seattle and it was AMAZING!!! Ugh... cant wait to go there again!

San Diego/Del Mar was great! Went to the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, San Diego Zoo, and Old Town!

In Portland we went to the Japanese Gardens, Mothers (the place to be for breakfast!), Van's Warped Tour, the Cullen's House (Twilight Destination), Multnomah Falls, Silver Falls State Park, and a bunch of other scenic places! It was glorious!
Seattle was a day trip! We thought we might as well go and see what its all about! We went up in the Space Needle and went to the Flying Fish Market. Saw a lot of cool shops and architecture and then went back to Portland.

The Twilight stuff was triggered on accident! On our way to Seattle, Washington there was this large sign on the side of a building that said Kalama, a Twilight location. So of course... I HAD to check it out!!! So that's how we came across the Kalama High School and parking lot! That prompted us to see what else we were missing! So when we got back to Portland we visited the Cullen's House and we had already gone to a couple of the scenic areas where bits of the film were shot without knowing! Multnomah Falls and Silver Falls State Park (See pictures below!)

Yay!

Oh and FYI... I know Koalas, and sometimes Pandas, are not really considered bears... but they just sound cuter that way!

Lions, Tigers, Pandas and Buffalo, OH MY!

Well today is another cold, very cold day here in SC... Not enjoying it one bit! In fact my fingers hurt as I type on the keyboard because of the chill. How did I survive in the North? Hah
Anywho I hope these little strange animal cuties help you smile and warm your heart!

I have been having doll withdrawals lately. I want to do some photography of Jun and Zephan so bad but after getting home from work all I want to do is sit and watch netflix... Ugh. Can someone just pay me to do whatever I want!!? hahah I wish. Maybe one day!

I always make these to do lists that seem to never get done but I enjoy making them anyway. Makes me feel like I have direction or goals so I can feel good about myself! So my goal for this weekend is cleaning the house and doing some doll photography! Yes! That sounds fantastic! Also list in there some Dance Central and World of Warcraft! That shouldn't be too bad of a list because its mostly fun... but I know sometimes I get into this crazy cleaning mode and just cant stop to do anything else... or I might be having to much fun playing video games that I don't clean the house or do my art... but anywho that's the list!

Edit: Oh yeah and I just remembered another thing I need to do!  Make new store Buttons! (and maybe one day I will update my stores... but that's not on this weekends list... ) ^^
