Winter Art Gallery

I am very happy to announce that I have some work up at the Hilton Head Island Library! A friend and fellow artist, Andrea Glover invited me to show off some of my work along with hers. At the library there is a pretty long hallway where local artists hang their work to show off for the passers by and Andrea took one wall and gave me the other. Thank you! ^^
It was a very fun experience and I have already received some very nice feedback from the few people that I met while setting up! Oh yeah, and finding 36 frames was also a blast. (37 if you included the about me one!)

Winter... don't be so mean.

It is cold... so very very cold today, although its not as cold as it is in the north I guess. But still! I am too cold for comfort!

Above is Winter. She is a quiet, but friendly girl. A bit too shy to become true friends with anyone, well at least with those of us who enjoy conversation. Maybe one day she will warm up to others... but I believe for now she enjoys her alone time.

Orange-riffica!

So here is one of my souvenirs from my trip to China! It took me forever to pick one of the Chinese Minority Dolls because they were all just so cute! The only other things I bought while there were 5 little fortune figurines that are super cute as well and I gave 4 of them away to friends and kept one for myself!

I didnt do a lot of sight seeing on my trip. All work and no play... awww, but I still had a good time! I took tons of pictures on the trip and need to sift through them this weekend. I might make a slide show or something because there are so many photos! I also have some sort of uneventful video too that I may post!

Still sick... still tired... but I am alive and trying to do things... I'm just snailing!

I have returned!

So I went to China and came back... SICK! Of course. Anywho I will have some pictures and details to share soon and get back into doing some photography and illustrations as well!

I have never flown so much in my life! Over the course of 3 weeks I have been on either 11 or 12 planes. Scanned and questioned and all that jazz... 5 Hotels in 10 days. I'm pretty tired and hungry now, but I had fun! Not much site seeing went on because the trip was for work... and there was good food and there was really really bad food.

Well yay, it's friday!

I had some lovely Sushi at Fancy Q with a friend today, and drew these little cuties!

They are called Podies... yeah sounds like a child saying they need to go to the bathroom but forget about that! They are happy little Budding, Flower, Pod creatures that like to laugh and play! How do I know this?! Hmm, I guess i just do... yep.

And here we have the Square Owls! Aren't... they... just...ummm...SQUARE! hahah and adorable! ^^

Halloween is coming! Although I probably wont be around for any festivities because I will most likely be in China for work.^^

A lot has happened since my last post!

Lets see here... I got engaged! Then got married on the 21st (on our 8 year anniversary) to Greg! Took a week long trip to MI to spend time with family, and be in my best friend Laura's wedding (L+V September 4th), which was super wonderful! I was so happy to find that they used the kokeshis I made for them throughout the decor with the popcorn bags, tags and other things along with the invites and save the dates!

Now I am back and have a crafting itch to scratch, but first I would like to show off some fun gifts I received from Laura and Vernon!
I received cute little Blythe figurines that Vernon found while in Japan a while back not knowing that I liked Blythe dolls! How weird is that! Something about me must scream "weird/creepy maybe cute dolls welcome here!" hahahah LOVE IT! Also he got some Japanese candy which I think is chocolate but not sure yet! (Edit: They are heavenly caramel cubes not chocolate! OMG they are GOOD!) Laura got me an extremely cute Chococat Cosmetic Bag, and Hello Kitty key cover, along with a super cute birdie mug and little green grass growing hair guy! They know me so well! Thanks guys!!!
Hmmm, I guess I can add a list here of projects I would like to get done this week so I can stay on task(list is not in a particular order...):
-Cube Pal experimentation... with clay and shrinkies
-Photos of my wood laser cut characters
-Paint wood laser cut characters
-set up etsy store!
-and of course plan future projects!!!

Kokeshi Invites!

So yeah I wanted to post a picture of the awesome Wedding Invites that I got in the mail a few weeks ago from Laura. Its really neat to see the final outcome! She and Josh did a great job of screen printing these and they were designed beautifully by Laura! I drew the the Kokeshis ^^ Yay!

Detroit Airport

After sifting through some of my photos from the weekend I thought I'd post a couple airport/airplane shots that interested me.

I think its about time i do this!

Just got back today from Michigan. I had a great time with my family and my mom's wedding was lovely! I will post a couple pictures tomorrow.

7 things that people might not know about me...

1. My favorite anime is Tenchi Muyo (all series and movies are included) I have a rather large tattoo on my left arm of Ryoko, Tenchi and Ryo-Ohki ^^

2. My secret lover is Atsushi Sakurai of Buck-Tick... I WISH! My favorite band is Buck Tick =D (a double fact!)

3. I love animals... I have two dogs (Ferris and Flavios), two cats (Bonnie and Clyde), a snake (Glowworm) and Iguana (GumaGama).

4. I love MMORPG's! I have been obsessed with World of Warcraft for many years and am on and off with Warhammer online... right now I am ON with it! hah

5. I am in love with Japan although I have not been there. I am also teaching myself Japanese on and off with Rosetta Stone but I lack discipline!

6. I inherited my grandmothers love of dolls! and got into BJD's a couple years ago. I have various dolls but only own 2 BJD's right now... which was a struggle for my wallet but I see more in the future. I have a Dollzone Megi named Jun Vayu and Soom Chrom named Zephan Andreas.

7. I like to do far too many things which keeps me busy... but it also means I start alot of things and dont finish. Sometimes I wish there was just one thing I liked to do... but then that would be boring!

That was actually pretty easy! I thought i wasnt going to be able to think of seven things... which is why I put this off for so long! ^^

Midnight Showing of Eclipse... and I haven't a ticket.

It's a sad sad day in the life of me. I was all excited and pumped up to go to the Midnight showing of Eclipse today... I was banding together a group of friends and everything, went up to the ticket stand and then... BAM! Signs posted all over the theatre "Eclipse Sold Out". Ugh... I had no idea it would have been sold out so early... I mean I got there at 6 because I waited until after work. I should have just went at lunch and it would have been a done deal (the ticket lady told me they sold out around 2:50 pm).

At least there are some pro's to this:
I'm not going to be super tired tomorrow for work.
I can see it tomorrow!
When I see it there wont be as many squealing girlies around... although I will still be squealing.
And I will see it at a reasonable time! And I guess if all hell breaks loose and I dont see it tomorrow each day that I wait will be less and less squealing girls!!!

I am trying to make myself feel better about this... JACOB I MISS YOU! And Jasper, you too!

Oh well... On another note I get a mini vacay. I am leaving Thursday Morning to fly back to Michigan for my Mom's Wedding where I will be the photographer... and hopefully wont totally screw up... this being my first wedding and all. Everything online is so negative towards people and their first wedding shoot! It's like geeze, have a little faith in people.

There is nothing like reading about how badly your going to screw up over and over again to get your moral boosted! Its like how do you learn if you never try... Luckily, I have faith in myself and am excited to do it and I am sure I will learn many things. And its also good to know that I will not be disowned by my mom if for some reason everything goes wrong...

Oh well... we shall see!

To all you people that will be enjoying Eclipse tonight... I HATE YOU!... no no, i mean ENJOY, have a blast, and squeal 10 extra times for me!!! ^^

Ok... so I guess I lied... Yesterday was the last day! I just figured this out when I was taking screen shots of all my pieces for my Year of "Creation A Day" Days so that I can put them together to have an overview... and then there was two 335's! So yeah... my new sneakers were to be 336 instead of 335, its fixed now and all the days after that are fixed too! I thought something was a bit off!

Anywho, it was a fun journey, glad its done! Kinda sad its done... well maybe. I will have alot more time for different projects now and will still be posting as often as I can.

I started my year June 23 of 2009 and I am ending it now June 23 of 2010 with this here screen shot of my desktop with screen shots of my pieces from the past year, which will be used at a later date.^^
